So, I make toys, a lot of them are bears, but in my house you would only find one little teddy I’ve kept, Cinnamon, my very first jointed and almost proper bear. One. But for the rest of my ‘children’ I have this hope and vision that my toys are not ending up as dust collectors who only watch the lives go by around them. I see them experiencing the joys of  being a toy, of being played with, loved ( a lot!), belonging to somebody, being a dear friend and having many, please, many many wonderful things shared with them!  I wish them long long life, with more than one child dear in their hearts…

As for my Cinnamon bear, he’s loved and he has not so bad companion most days, me. And for the last week, he’s no longer the only bear in our home! Cinnamon No2 (above)  is made by my very dear friend, lovely bear maker Rasa’s Kaper.  He’s  heavy (filled with saw dust & steel pallets), stands on his own, melts my heart completely, is in my favourite colour ( Rasa!!! and ah, ah – such a handsome little boy! My heart skipped a few beats when we unwrapped the packaging, everything so detailed, so perfect… and with some extra thoughtful presents – oh, how wonderful to get such lovely gifts!!! Anyone else wants to make my day? Seriously )  I can’t thank enough, for the bear (and the extra goodies!), for the friend I found in you Rasiuk, I think it’s time for more swaps in my life. )

I’ll  show you my bear that will move to Holland to live with Rasa’s and with her (I hear lots and lots) other teddies she collects, soon.

With help from Lithuanian post, my part of a swap finally reached  Loreta!  So, what was in that box:

Jane. This girl has a bit of a history as originally she looked very different from what you see in this picture below (for 4 years she was very much a girl of more modern times -  bright clothes, ginger hair… high boots and she was tucked away in one of my craft boxes).  My swap partner loves original dolls and she loves old, vintage things, so I decided to embrace the challenge in order to surprise her… I’ve only kept the original body and changed the rest to make Jane look like she’s from some older times (her dress is actually made from a vintage and I believe early 20th century fabric and lace!) … It took me two long nights till I got some sort of decent (not perfect) result… I can only hope Loreta honestly likes Jane. As for me – no more dolls on my work desk any time soon!

It was a great fun. And I’ve got some beautiful stuff to remind me of it for the rest of my life. Thanks again Loreta! x

Pincushion

This notebook (and a bookmark)  is just …what’s the word? Pretty in every way and is gonna be used and treasured! Thank you Loreta so so much! I love it all!

It was a swap we had and as Loreta still hasn’t received my parcel yet (even though we sent almost at the same time), I can only give you a tiny sneak peak for now…

I enjoy making things (a lot!), especially if I know they gonna have a concrete ‘owner’ to go to. All of my toys are intended for kids and I always hope that my little creations will be played with, so having neglected unsold toys standing on my bookshelf is not the result I hoped for. I still have two ladies: Isolda and Isabelle, who really need to move from our home to somewhere where they will be appreciated. So I’m offering swaps this time. Nothing big. To you from me: my elephants, some other mini goodies that I’ll add according to what the winners will be interested in and I would hope to get something small in return.
