I’ve been stitching intensively for the last two nights. You can see my first trial a couple of post ago where I’ve shown one picture… since then I had to change the process a bit and start again, but at last we have the result – a place mat  for my youngest who loves almost all living creatures and trains :) And loves to eat.

i can'tbelieve i've managed...

have a closer look

Stitching is easy, only getting everything ready for it takes a bit of time: I had to enlarge the original picture (below), cut out all the felt pieces I wanted on my mat and just stitch them all on. Now my older boy wants a mat too, so the same process only with a different theme is awaiting me…

it’s from this beautiful Japanese magazine I’ve treated myself to idees

Looking at this and other Japanese craft magazines I have (I’m gonna share some favourites here with you one day), I get so built up to make things… Once I get another place mat done, I’ve been wanting to make some simple linen ones for all of us, I want lunch bags for my boys, pencil cases, mini pouches, baby stuff and new toys… cushions, clothes…. jewlery! :) Yes…

Will see how far I’m gonna get with my crafty hopes, kids holidays begin from Monday :) .  I still haven’t prepared my promised free patterns for you…  but it will come. It will.

btw. if you like fish and don’t mind the soft ones, udder is offering a great give way!

Enjoy your day! x

for myself

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Word ‘new’ has to be used more often. Like new toys… new designs… new ideas…

So here: today I finally managed to take a couple of photos of my new necklace I’ve finished some time ago.

This is my first trial, based entirely on Maria’s kjo style (which I very much admire!) . I’m not intending to sell my necklace – it’s for personal use, so I sort of borrowed her idea and made something for myself (for a change). This year I’m too optimistic I’m gonna treat myself to more than just this. Thinking big: some clothes, bags… and thinking I’m not exactly realistic…

Yoris. Serious, but knows how to have fun, shy, but with right approach is easy to befriend and is in need of a good loving home. And hopes to find a great friend. I hope with him…

He’s my special bear, well, they all are(!), but Nuka is my first bigger prototype of the mini bear brothers and sisters. I’m very happy with the result and the bear is very happy too. Only now he needs to make somebody else happy ;)

Felting fun

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I’ve bought quite a lot of wool last year in hope to embrace the art of felting a bit more seriously. The hope is still there. The wool too. So far I only made this little attempt (a few months ago…) to try my felting needles

I used this photo

And then recently I moved on to wet felting :

I also made flower brooches

A couple more of my flowers are displayed in my shop.

The inspiring image for the brooches was

Definitely will play more with wool. I have quite a few Japanese magazines/books with lots of exciting woolly ideas to try out and then there are people like Fadeeva. Her creations are simply amazing. Actually, she was the one that made me wanna get some felting needles and try to learn to control them. Love her stuff! Also love HUT up. And kjoo.
For those who are interested I bought my merino tops from this great shop.

So that’s wool. In a mean time I’m back to what I’m feeling better at – making some more mohair bears… and rabbits. And…

Hope you’re enjoying your week! Will ketch up soon. x

Weekend proves to be the wrong time to promise a post :) I’ve 5 minutes before we shoot off to the swimming pool so here we go:

I’ve a little bunny up for grabs. She’s been waiting for somebody to offer her a loving home and I can not think of any better way to solve it then giving one of you a chance to own her.

Here is Boni

Boni

Boni

About 15cm (5.9 inches) tall (from tippy toes to ears). Needs assistance with standing up on her own. She can sit, move her little arms and legs + her dress is removable.

I’m not making more of these (you never know, but at the moment I’m into mohair toys….), so it’s sort of a last chance. If you like her – drop a comment – convince me you really want to have her and wait for the results :) Boni is gonna come with a little something, but that’s for the new owner to find out ;)

I would say we give a couple of days for this Boni thing and then I hope she goes to a nice home.

Hope you’re having a nice weekend, I’ll be back tomorrow with some new bears…
