Snow is a rare guest in London and often a it’s visits are kept very short. We woke up to a beautiful white view outside, but the white is melting already and melting fast… Spring is on it’s way…. & I can’t await!

Beautiful British countryside. Ashridge Estate among our favourites, especially in autumn colours and smells…

Hallo Berlin

Wednesday, October 31st, 2012

We’ve been here before…

Lovely tea room/shop in Schöneberg where they have amazing tea selection and their food was yummy too

antique record player/old record shop (Schöneberg) and the sweet owner played a very very old gramophone for our kids to hear what first records sounded like

little public outdoor fitness place, something I would love here in our neighbourhood!

our new fun family game

layers old of posters…

National history museum was well worth a visit

we ate a lot of cakes, we always do in Berlin, and my favourite Russischer Zupfkuchen was the best from this bakery

Volkspark Am Weinbergsweg has a great playground on a hill on the edge of Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg

the Holocaust Memorial  revisited

All in all, our traditional mini break in Berlin was as always – nice. We ate a lot, we walked a lot and still enjoyed the city – a lot.  Now we just have to remember what we also love London for…

What a treat: a trip to the town, without a dog (for the first time in 4 months!!!), to the Science Museum to see daddy at work and his work. Web Lab is one of a kind, interactive (both online and at the museum) 24 hour exhibition where users are be able to operate the exhibits even overnight when the museum is closed. You’ll find five experiments, each involves creating and sharing media in a way you’ve never done before. ‘Universal Orchestra’, an internet-powered, eight-piece robotic orchestra; ‘Sketchbots’, a series of robots able to take photographs and then sketch them in sand; ‘Data Tracer’, a map that traces where the world’s online information is physically stored; ‘Teleporter’, a series of web-enabled periscopes giving instant access to sites including a 24-hour US bakery; ‘Lab Tag Explorer’, a real-time visualisation of all ‘Web Lab’ visitors around the world (our daddy’s main ‘baby’ in this project). Everything  you do is stored in a little personal “lab tag’ that you can continue to interact over the internet. And you’ll want to ;)

Our kids didn’t want to leave. And, now more than ever before, they both hope to one day be like daddy, do creative things like he does, share it with the world…

Carters

Thursday, July 12th, 2012

Ah that rain… even our favorite Carters steam fair was sad and gloomy. Rain, rain go away!

Happy days

The best b-day present so far? My breakfast made and delivered at 7am by my two sweetest boys! Life is full of beautiful surprises…

Our regular walks in the woods. Living in the big city, but with a hint of a countryside. I wouldn’t want it any other way (at the moment)!
