And once again, we’re counting days…

Winter feels nearer in London in these days. The temperatures have dropped, we get to see frost’s visits every morning now & I hear some (little people I know) are already far into dreaming about a possible white Christmas and proper sledging in the woods :) .  Christmas trees are being brought into homes and this is what I love about December – seeing all the dressed up trees in windows of strangers’ homes and Christmas lights in the dark. The oven is turned on more often & home is treated to vanilla and all-ground spice smells, the homemade gingerbread men are filing up storage containers in the kitchen, joining us for the long wait till the very special day… I like December. It’s cozy.

Tiny guests

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

Acorn trees are ‘getting rid off’ their babies. Lots of bright green whispering, giggling and crying tiny seeds in our woods. We couldn’t resist. We had to borrow a few. And when the fun is over, we promise to plant them all and wait for spring in hope we’ll see some of them come to life in the best possible way…

Others use acorns too.

DIY paper snowflake wreath

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

One more day & 2 nights to manage till the very big event… and what better way ‘to kill’ the time than making something. It was a spontaneous project with not enough patience, but who will know? We had this plastic LED wreath from IKEA since last Christmas, with no concrete plans for it, so I decided to give it a purpose. A temporary one.

You will need:

*a ring with either some LED lights attached to it or a  Silhouette light from IKEA (ours is from last year, instead of a ring it’s only stars available now)

*paper snowflakes

*double sided sticky tape

The process couldn’t be more simple: I cut out the snowflakes from paper, various sizes and just stuck them on the ring with a sticky tape.

the final result

and I managed a Polish porcupine ball. They are time consuming so 1 will have to do… for now. Video tutorial

It’s December.

It’s time to put our advent calender to use.

It’s 24 days till Christmas… !!!

It’s also time to slow down, to share and give.  I’m preparing some stuff for the charity event in Vilnius (Lithuania) and thinking how lucky I’m. We’re…

Think of somebody, pass some good to them.

And enjoy your life. Again and again.
